The neighbor of flint hall                                                        --- First official “meeting” with Day Hall      After talked about the four seasons of Flint hall, I am now going to talk about things happened in Day hall. As a person who really does not like to go out, especially to an unfamiliar place, I have never visited Day hall even though it just less than 500 meters away from my dorm. But, the outside looking and the surrounding forests and plants are familiar to me because the view outside my window is Day hall and those “decorations”. As usual, I took out my phone and gave quick shots of Day hall and the forests. I rarely took pictures of Day hall...

Flint in winter --- last semester of living here

Image
Flint in winter                                  --- Cherishing the last semester of living here Because of the big snowfall of Syracuse, Chinese people gave a very beautiful name to Syracuse, the snowy city. I can still remember the first snow of 2016 is on the second day of thanksgiving break. The red walls of flint hall become brighter as the sun reflect the white snow to the walls. Then it’s our winter break and two or three days before the winter break, there were full of noises and garbage filled the corridors, and I know everyone was so excited to go back home.  Right after the winter break, I came back to flint. Flint is my home in America and it welcomes me to be back. When I cam...

Flint in fall                                     --- Increasing familiarity between me and flint      After two months of the summer season, I finally experienced an invigorating autumn climate.  The climate became wet and cold with the sharp drop in temperature, and leafs began to fall which covered the pavements. With the temperature dropped, I came to Syracuse for two months, and everything around me began to be familiar to me and trees that planted in front of my dorm witnessed all changes. No matter the changes to me, the weather, or any other things. To study abroad alone is not eas...

Flint in summer

Flint in summer                                                            --- First meet with Flint hall     The summer of Syracuse only lasts two months since I came here. The summer here is different from the summer in my hometown, it’s not that hot in here and once you go to a shaded place, you will feel comfortable and pleasant, and it will be better if you got a cold drink. The summer of Flint is also different and distinct from other seasons. The sun is always shining, which shines the red wall of Flint hall to be super bright. The sky is always blue, that’s one thing I love the weather of Syracuse so much, and the soft comparison of the col...

First impression of the Flint hall

The first impression that Flint Residential Hall gives me is gorgeous and fantastic. Before I study abroad, some senior students set up a group chat in order to help the freshmen to successfully transition into Syracuse University. I can still remember that when every student received the email from university to tell us where we would live in aroused every freshman’s interests. In the meantime, they were discussing the differences between each residential hall and the advantages or disadvantages of each hall. When I got that email which told me I would live in Flint hall makes me excited, although this residential hall is on the mount, it just renovated and the location of this hall is superb. The senior said, “If someone can be selected to live in Flint Hall, they are absolutely lucky. Flint hall is next to the Gram dining hall, and it has individual toilets which are convenient for students to take a shower. At that time, I was expecting to see this wonder...
