Flint in fall
--- Increasing familiarity between me and flint
After two months of the summer season, I finally experienced an invigorating autumn climate. The climate became wet and cold with the sharp drop in temperature, and leafs began to fall which covered the pavements. With the temperature dropped, I came to Syracuse for two months, and everything around me began to be familiar to me and trees that planted in front of my dorm witnessed all changes. No matter the changes to me, the weather, or any other things.
To study abroad alone is not easy to me, accordingly, there are thousands of problems that I need to face and solve. First and foremost, to fluently speak the native language is essential, so in order to understand what my fellows talked, to figure out the important points that professors mentioned, and to clearly express myself, I have to make more efforts than any other person. I went to professor’s office hour to ask how I can improve my English abilities, went to libraries for searching more resources and materials that I can learn from, and went to the writing center for correcting my grammar issues. The first month is really tough, actually, I have gotten hundreds of papers and readings to do, but I have to make sure my English is good enough to communicate, so at that time, I was tired as a dog which ran 100 kilometers. But every night, when I went back to Flint, I felt it was home to me, and I finally felt the warmth from this Hall, in other words, I eventually felt the sense of belonging. Even now I can still remember the warmth that Flint hall gave me. After my whole day classes, I went back “home”, some acquaintances greeted me with soft smiles, and when I back to my dorm, I can get into bed to take a nap and to relax. After took a nap, I would text my friends, and went to the dining hall together, on the way to the dining hall, we talked about the anecdotes that happened during the day. Everything looks so ordinary and normal, but it definitely contributed to the trivial happiness in my life.
