Flint in summer

                                                    Flint in summer
--- First meet with Flint hall
The summer of Syracuse only lasts two months since I came here. The summer here is different from the summer in my hometown, it’s not that hot in here and once you go to a shaded place, you will feel comfortable and pleasant, and it will be better if you got a cold drink. The summer of Flint is also different and distinct from other seasons. The sun is always shining, which shines the red wall of Flint hall to be super bright. The sky is always blue, that’s one thing I love the weather of Syracuse so much, and the soft comparison of the color between the blue sky and the red wall of flint hall guarantees good visual effects to students.
From my perspective, one building has to have some surrounding environment to support and to compare in order to highlight the beauty of that building. For Flint hall, trees planted in front of the hall made the hall looks more active and vivid. There are different kinds of plants planted in front of the building, and each of them made Flint hall looks more pretty. The one that I took picture of is the most characteristic one, at least from my perspective, because it has some small, cute, and red fruits on it. And what surprises me is that the sharp difference between the color of the fruits and the stems looks harmonious and pleasing to eyes. Although in this photo, the flint hall becomes a background of this tree, the weird shape of flint hall finally looks more ordinary and seems artistic.

I love to take pictures from the angle from this tree and to regard the flint hall as a background. Because from this angle of taking a picture can not only highlight the art of the flint hall but also can stress the vibrant of the plants. Apparently, buildings are just a kind of rigid things existed in a specific location, but as those plants or other living things adorn them, they can “become” vivid immediately.
After talking about the outside appealing of flint hall of the summer season, I am going to discuss the other aspects of flint hall in summer. It is universally acknowledged that people all love to stay at home in the summer season and they all less likely to go out. However, there is no air conditioning in each dorm, so students of flint hall were gathered into the lounge on the first floor because the lounge is the only place which equipped with air conditioning. I noticed that there are around twenty international students gathered together to play the game cards like the Werewolves or UNO. From their facial expression, I can tell they had a great of fun and their laughter was really loud. Some students just sat on the sofa and watched the football games, there were several girls sat together and gossiped the news of some superstars, and there were a very small bunch of people sat at the corner of the lounge, they either read the book or did their homework. I was an exception, personally, I don’t like stay with a large group of people in summer because I think that will make me even hotter. So I just stayed in my dorm and enjoyed the cool wind brought by my roommate’s fan, plus I love watching dramas online, no matter Korean dramas, Chinese dramas, or American dramas, they all arouse my interest. And that’s why my friends around me call me “aunt Yvonnex” because they believe only old ladies love watching dramatic things and stay alone.
